This easy trail follows inland valleys, combining historic roads and woodland paths to the Manchester Mill, where it briefly joins the Sweetwater Red (Historic) Trail. Once south of the mill, the Blue trail again follows an inland route to Sweetwater Falls. At the end of the trail it descends a series of wooden steps to an overlook of Sweetwater Creek.

Technically known as the Sweetwater Blue Non-game Wildlife Trail, the trail currently begins to the right of the park office. Late in 2005, the trail will begin at the back side of the newly completed Visitor's Center. Almost immediately, Sweetwater Blue comes off to the left to begin its journey to Sweetwater Falls.

Following a mostly level path, except for the two times it dips into the Sweetwater Creek river valley, the path quickly develops its repetative pattern, winding deep into a forested cove to cross a tributary of Sweetwater Creek, then returning to run parallel to, but not adjacent to, Sweetwater Creek. Halfway through the hike, the trail briefly joins the Red (Historic) Trail at the cotton mill. Just past the mill Sweetwater Blue bears to the right, while Sweetwater Red comes off to the left. Climbing into the coves of Sweetwater Creek State Park, the trail gains altitude, then begins an easy rise-fall pattern that carries it to the second junction with Sweetwater Creek, where an extensive staircase carries hikers down to the creek.

About halfway down the steps Sweetwater White dead-ends into Sweetwater Blue. The blue trail continues down to the left to an overlook, where it intersects once again with Sweetwater Red.
