Overall rating: 5 Scenic rating: 5 Difficulty rating: 3 Great visitors center and an excellent place to learn about the battle (i.e. trench works, cannon, etc.). One of the best views of the cities of Kennesaw, Marietta, Smyrna, and Atlanta. Heavy use.

Overall rating: 5 Scenic rating: 5 Difficulty rating: 5 We drove to the overlook at the top of the Mt due to strenuous hike with a dog. There is a great trail from the overlook parking lot to the top of the Mt. Beautiful view!!!

Overall rating: 4 Scenic rating: 5 Difficulty rating: 4 This is a smooth, steep trail. My hiking partner, Rockie the shihtzu, and I had a blast at Kennesaw. We hiked the steep Mountain Top trail and descended via the Burnt Hickory Trail. The climb to the top of the mountian was smooth but extremely steep, and we had to take several breaks. The descent on Burnt Hickory was also steep and anything but smooth. To me, the more rugged the terrain the better and more fun it is. The loop leaving and returning to the visitors center took us 5 hours. This may be longer than most due to several short breaks along the way. We crashed for 3 hours when we got home and later I discovered Rockie nursing 2 paw pads that had minor abrasions...

Overall rating: 3 Scenic rating: 4 Difficulty rating: 3 nice hike, energetic, a bit crowded. I used poles for this one for an extra workout. You can see alot of metro Atlanta on a clear day to include Stone Mountain.

Overall rating: 3 Scenic rating: 3 Difficulty rating: 4 My son introduced me to this trail in 2007. It is difficult and steep, so be prepared to either BE in shape or GET in shape :) Good workout trail and interesting rocks.

Overall rating: 5 Scenic rating: 5 Difficulty rating: 4 I live 8.5m from the visitor center and the park area is one of the best bargains I've ever seen. Free, too. The Mountaintop Trail is a good little workout if you go at it at a brisk pace. As has been said either be in shape or you'll wind up in shape. If you're not better to take a slow pace. Going at it hard without jogging takes about 20min.
