USFS managed paved trail. Moderate trail that can be fairly steep in a coupl of spots. Beautiful postcard views of the Anna Ruby Falls and the Smith Creek. Hiked on Sunday, May 1, 2005 around 5:30 pm. Lots of hiking traffic.

Short hike to a beautiful twin waterfall. Anna and Ruby show their natural beauty well. One of the more populated trails. Not to take to be alone.

I was intrigued to learn that Curtis Creek and York Creek join to form Smith Creek. I have a son named Curtis Smith. That made the trail to the falls even more special.

A beautiful trail! Saw a bear one year, saw several tiny salamanders on the wet rocks near the start of the trail in 2007.

The trek to the falls is easy...a little bit of an up hill hike but it is on a paved walkway. The next 5 miles is intense with at times little room for error. Takes about 3-4 hours to hike the 5 miles there and back (if you are so inclined).

Beautiful Falls, lovely walk past tumbling water. Many interpretive markers along the way. The water and falls are off-limits to exploration other than viewing. Steep in places but well worth the .4 mile hike up to see the falls. There is an additional strenuous hike available, but my kids, 5 & 8, were not up for it. My kids didn't enjoy this waterfall as much as Helton Creek Falls where they could actually get in the water and explore. However, nearby Unicoi State Park has playgrounds and creeks to play in. The area is absolutely beautiful and the story of how the falls were named is touching. Refreshments and a gift shop are on site.

One of the best short hikes in the state, provided the water level is high. The picnic area by beautiful rushing mountain stream is one of my favorites in North Georgia. Downsides - the trail to the falls is paved (yuck), and the area is very crowded on weekends & holidays. Go at off peak times for better experience.

Anna Ruby falls is a really easy hike, and the falls are gorgeous! I've gone here about five times, and it doesn't get old.

It's not a "trail" in the classic sense, but a paved path up the side of the mountain. Only one steep climb for about 100 feet might present a challenge. I visited the day after a heavy rain in October 2009, following weeks of heavy rain and flooding and the falls were awesome. There is a $2.00 per person entry fee to the area. I plan to hike from Helen to Unicoi on the Helen-Unicoi trail and then from Unicoi to Anna-Ruby Falls on Smith Creek trail soon.

This is not really much of a hike, but it is beautiful, and is a good place for the elderly or young children to take a short walk to very beautiful falls.

Hiked the trail in August, trail is clearly marked, easy combo trip with Helen, Ga. Trail feels longer than .4 mile. Spectactular view of the fall from the top of trail.
