Nice trail to begin the new year. Very easy, very nice. Would be a great trail in summer as well to get on the banks of the lake. I reccomend this to anyone wanting to spend a couple hours in the woods leisurly.

This is a nice trail if you're in the area and want a different look at Lake Allatoona or if you're a Civil War history buff.

nice hike with some great history the stair climb alittle rough but other than that the hike is pretty easy.

If you love civil war history this is the place to go! The trails are well kept and scenic and filled with interpretive signs that give the hiker the story of the Battle of Allatoona Pass.

A lot of history. Take the time to read the markers. The deep cut is impressive. A very quiet trail and good for trail runnung.

VERY PRETTY AREA, NICE AND LEVEL WALK, A LOT OF IT NEXT TO SHORELINE OF LAKE.BEST IN THE FALL AND WINTER WHEN YOU CAN SEE ACROSS THE LAKE. DEER, SQUIRRELS, BIRDS.

The GA State Park at Red Top Mountain recently took over maintenance of Allatoona Pass; their website notes trail improvements and a new monument. Trails are easy to hike, and the scenery is varied enough to interest my 7- and 4-yr-old boys. Be sure to check out the various rocks embedded in the Tenn. Road cut, the eagle nest platform, and the view to Kennesaw Mtn. Also, drive thru Allatoona Pass Road if you're returning to Acworth via Old US 41 - it's another long but shallow cut for the railbed.

Allatoona Pass is a rare opportunity to revisit civil war history, high tech engineering of the day and breathtaking scenery that leaves you wishing that there were 3.4 more miles of this amazing trail.
