This is one of my favorite trails for running. There are many side trails that if you have a sharp eye you can pick out. If you keep going straight instead of turning back toward the parking lot on the backside of the trail where it runs next to Mulberry Creek, you come up on a beautiful rock gorge with small waterfalls. Alternatively, again on the backside of the trail, you can cross over on the 36" pipe an get on a trail along a gas pipeline that takes you all the way to Morgan Falls Dam. Best I can tell from maps, you're still on NPS property. You have to cross over on two more pipes to get to the dam, but it's a nice hike especially when the weeds have been cut back on the pipeline. I've only seen one other person on this section for the many times I've run it. When you get to the dam, you'll see houses on your left, but you're still on park property. You'll also see the Fulton County park across the river. There are many other side trails from the Johnsons Ferry side, but some of them lead on to private property such as the old Hyde farm which is not open to the public as of yet.
