A must see. I am an avid waterfall seeker, and have seen quite a few. This one has extremely easy access- if you are driving anywhere in this area, you owe it to yourself to check it out. It has a great swimming hole at the falls, also. This is also great for very young children! Nobody knows about this place, no signs until the parking lot, so no crowds. Bring your camera...

Helton Creek Falls is a very easy and nice trail. I have 2 small children and it was no problem taking them. You will see 2 waterfalls and there is an observation deck with benches. Just sit and enjoy!!!!!!

Hiked up to Helton Creek Falls with fiance on 04/01/05. Walk is easy with steps, although for people with short legs a little stretch. Walk to observation deck is short and gives a wonderful view of the upper falls.

When they say gravel road, they mean large chunks of rock. It starts out paved, but the last mile and a half is one-lane of "gravel" and a bit steep. That said, we made it (but did not feel quite safe doing so) down to the falls and back in a Civic. There's nowhere to turn around once you start down. The falls are almost visible from the parking pull off, and the steps down in are well maintained. The surrounding forest and both of the falls are beautiful, and worth the drive down.

One of my favorite spots on earth. I chose this spot to propose to my wife in the fall. "My love for you is as endless as the water over these falls". It worked, she said yes. Steve & Valinda

You can drive down a unpaved road to get to the falls so its not really a hike but you are definetly out in the woods and the falls are beautiful!!! Very much worth going to see.

Hiked both falls with my 4 year old son on 2/5. Trailhead and small parking area are about 2 miles down on unpaved road (about a 1.5 miles after you're certain you're lost). Very easy walk to both falls and great payoff. You can walk out onto rocks below the lower falls for a great view and the upper falls are very impressive. Great family hike.

Visited the falls on Saturday, May 22, 2004. There were more people there than we expected but after we viewed the falls, we knew why. Considering the dry spell we have had lately, the falls were full and impressive. There was a wonderful cool breeze at the bottom of the first falls. My husband and I were impressed with the path to both falls -very well maintained. Although the road getting there was a little rough (very dusty, narrow in some spots, and bumpy), the overall trip was great. We plan to visit again.

Visited Helton Creek 11 Sep 03. Was about 10:00 AM when we got to the lower falls. Hike is easy and relatively short. The lower falls area is in full shade so the morning visit was cool. No other vehicles were in the parking area but when we got to the top of the lower falls there was a wet boot print on the rocks; so someone had just been there. We took numerous photos and visitied the obersavation deck of the upper falls. Upper falls is probably 60-70 feet in height with lots of water even in mid-Sep with no recent rain. Enjoyed this falls to the utmost! A group of four young adults were at the lower falls when we departed; so they were the only people we saw during our 45 minute stay.

I took the whole family and we didn't have any problems. The trail was extremley easy. We did come in contact with THOUSANDS of Lady Bugs at the small parking space. The kids loved it. They were in everyhting!

This was my first second waterfall visited. We went to Vogel State Park, and then over to Helton Creek. It is beautiful, and relacing just to sit and listen. We took pictures of the falls and they turned out so good I had them enlarged, and they sit in my office. I have had alot of comments on them.

This trail is not hiked... it is walked. But, it is a beautiful place to have a picnic and introduce the great outdoors to a female friend!!
