December, 2004 Great hike and an easy hike. The wobbly bridges mentioned have been repaired. We had no trouble with any of the bridges. It is a gradual incline up the path, but not steep. It is beautiful - waterfall and gigantic rocks. The trail head is just before the gravel road. It does not say "Coleman trail", but it has a sign about Coleman river, dead end one mile and something about fishing rule. Enjoy. Dee, Beck, Dick, Loretta and Hyman

We hiked this trail with our 2 small children (in packs) April, 2002. The trail was suprisingly beautiful and offered many different wild flowers and small waterfalls. We only happened upon the trail since we were camping nearby, but it was a wonderful, easy trip.

I hiked this trail on 10/28/01. I found the trail to be in better condition than this leads one to think. I found the bridges in good condition. The hike was amazingly beautiful on an incredible fall day. there are SEVERAL spots of beautfiul waterfall and the large rocks along the river are stunning. i can't wait to return in the spring.

JUNE 10, 2001 STARTED HIKE..1230PM COMPLETED HIKE..1400 PM TEMPERATURE START 67 FINISH SAME CLEAR TO PARTLY CLOUDY EASY TRAIL HEAD TO FIND JUST REMEMBER TO PAY YOUR 2 DOLLARS FOR A PARKING PASS. TRAIL FOLLOWS THE COLEMAN RIVER WHICH IS A CRYSTAL CLEAR SMALL TO MEDIUM SIZE STREAM WITH CASCADES REACHING 5 TO 6 FEET. TRAIL IS IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE BUT BE CAREFUL ON THE BRIDGES, ROCKS AND LOGS BECAUSE ON THE 2ND BRIDGE I TOOK ONE WRONG MISPLACED STEP AND ENDED UP IN THE GULLY NEXT TO THE BRIDGE...VERY SLIPPERY...WE HAVE HAD A LOT OF RAIN LATELY WHICH I AM SURE ADDED TO THE DAMPNESS AND SLICKNESS. AS ALWAYS I AM A STRONG ADVOCATE OF ALWAYS USING A HIKING STAFF...I WAS CARRYING MINE INSTEAD OF USING WHEN I WENT OFF THE BRIDGE......ANYWAY BACK TO THE TRAIL... ALTHOUGH A SHORT 1 MILE IN TRAIL IT REMINDS ME OF SOME OF THE MORE REMOTE TRAILS I HAVE HIKED...OVERHANGING LIMBS, NARROW FOOTINGS, A FEW STEEP DROP OFFS...AND LUSH GREENERY... IF YOU ARE A TROUT FISHER THEN TAKE THE ULTRA LITE OR THE FLY ROD BECAUSE I SAW PLENTY OF GREAT LOOKING SPOTS AND MANY TROUT FROM 8 INCHES TO 12 OR 14 INCHES. BEST THING IS THERE WAS NOT A SOUL FISHING ANYWHERE ALONG THE ENTIRE MILE. THE TRAIL HAS MANY ROCKS ON THE HILL SIDE AND RIVER SIDE..SOME AS BIG AS A LARGE TRUCK WITH CAVE LIKE AREAS UNDER AND AROUND THEM.. THE SOUND OF THE RIVER I WOULD HAVE TO RATE A 10...ITS THE KIND THAT MAKES YOU FORGET EVERYTHING ELSE AND GET TOTALLY INVOLVED IN THE SOUNDS... THERE ARE ALSO SOME HUGE TREES IN THE AREA..ALMOST AS BIG AS THE HUGE POPULAR TREE ON THE BEAR CREEK TRAIL..BUTTERFLIES WERE EVERYWHERE, EVEN A GROUP OF POWDER BLUE ONES THAT GROUPED TOGETHER ON THE GROUND...MADE A GREAT PICTURE... FORGET THE SLIPPERY BRIDGES AND JUST ENJOY YOURSELF ON THIS SHORT AND BEAUTIFUL HIKE.. HAPPY TRAILS... BILL J JONESBORO, GA
