THE CHEATHAM HILL LOOP IS SPECIAL TO MY BROTHERS AND MYSELF, WE HAVE BEEN GOING THERE SINCE OUR EARLY CHILDHOOD DAYS. AFTER MANY YEARS SINCE MY LAST VISIT I DECIDED TO TAKE MY SON, WE HAD A VERY GOOD TIME HOWEVER I MUST ADMIT SEEING ALL OF THE FALLEN, DECAYING TREES REALLY TAKES AWAY FROM TH AREA. ALSO AS A RELIC HUNTER I SAW OBVIOUS SIGNS OF ILLEGAL HUNTING.

The Illinois Monument was awe inspiring. When you read about Col. Dan McCook leading his troops towards the dead angle, his troops telling him to get down, it makes you want to cry. Its a very special spot, I think. I came all the way from Oregon to see Kennesaw Mt. and it was worth it.

Battle site is interesting, I guess, but trail is rather boring.A lot of dead tree's laying around takes away from.

Very interesting. Causes you to reflect a lot on the events that happened there.
