Cartersville
Take I-75 to the Red Top Mountain Exit in Cartersville. Go west on Red Top Mountain Road (away from the park). Turn right on US 41. Take the 2nd right, River Road. After you pass under the I-75 overpass, the remains of the Etowah Rail bridge are visible to the left. Continue down this road to the Cooper Iron Works Day Use Area (fee required). Park and follow the road just east of the furnace to the lake. The path starts on the left side of the lake.
