Ellijay
From the Georgia Mountain Parkway in Ellijay take Georgia Highway 52 East for 18 miles to Amicalola Falls State Park. Parking for thru-hikers is on the left just past the road to the top of the falls. Use the Southern Terminus Access Trail to get to the start of the Appalachian Trail at Springer Mountain.

Dawsonville
From Dawsonville, take Ga. 400 north to State Road 136. State Road 183 merges. Stay on 136/183 until 136 goes off to the left. Stay on 183, then bear right(east) on Highway 52. Amicalola Falls is on the left in a mile.
